Commonwealth Book Company is a small business owned and operated by James and Julie Lynch. James worked in used & antiquarian stores in Charleston, SC and Lexington, KY, during college and graduate school. We began selling books full time in 1999. In 2008 we moved from Maineville, Ohio to St. Martin, and took up residence in the historic Brown County Inn. Built in the late 1850s by John Crone of New Orleans, Louisiana, the Inn eventually was purchased by the neighboring Ursuline Convent and served its students and guests until being sold in the 1950s. Since moving in we have found ourselves spending most of our time and money maintaining and restoring this building.
